Last morning at the home office

I woke up this morning suddenly realizing this is my last day working from home. As much as I complained about the computer problems and lack of social interaction, I think I’m gonna miss it. I’ve got my window open now, fan blowing, and music cranked up on the speakers. In a few weeks, I’ll be back in cublicleland: gray walls, no windows, florescent lighting. But at least I’ll get to have lunch with the girls. And I’ll be getting out of the house (gasp!) at least once a day! Wow! Weird to think I’ve more or less been a shut-in for a year.

My work day ends at noon today. Then there’s the flurry of shipping my computer, throwing out almost all my perishable food, and last minute packing before I head to the airport. I’ll be (hopefully!) all settled in at the hotel in Istanbul by this time tomorrow. With the layover in Frankfurt, my travel time is 12 hours. Ugh. I’m bringing lots of books, and some NPR on the ol’ iPod (Thanks, Julie, for the recommendation!)
