Jill, Jessaca, and I headed to the ol’ AMC tonight to see the much-anticipated Twilight. We also tried out the AMC’s Fork & Screen, where tickets are regular price, but you have the option of ordering real food instead of concession-fare. Last time I was in the deluxe theater with the reclining seats, but this time we had regular seats and a long counter in front of us. The counter wasn’t nearly as far away from the seat as I’d thought, so I was able to enjoy my burger in relative comfort.

As for the movie, it was actually better than I’d anticipated. Granted, I had very low expectations — I was never a big fan of the casting, and the trailers left a lot to be desired. But despite some flaws in make-up and acting, I really enjoyed seeing Stephanie Meyer’s story come to life on the big screen. The love scenes paid off — tense and believable. And while the book left me clamoring for more, the movie left me pretty excited to see the next in the series. Not clamoring, but still better than I’d anticipated.
