Mommy’s First Mother’s Day

On Mother's DayMy first mother’s day started with a bath for the boy, where he managed to get in a little squirt, the stinker. James and I decided to avoid the crowds like we did in the days before kids — we skipped lunch and dinner and headed to Outback Steakhouse at 3 PM. Apparently everyone else had that idea, too. We only waited 15 minutes or so for a table, but for 3 o’clock, that’s a long time. Neither of us has been to Outback in years, and it wasn’t as good as we remembered. Half a Bloomin’ Onion and two Cokes later, my Alice Springs Chicken and fries looked absolutely unappealing. After about three bites, my insides vehemently protested, and we had to cut linner/dunch short. Liam was actually pretty good — once we gave him a few tugs from a bottle, he was thoroughly amused watching everyone in the restaurant.

James bought me a digital frame, which will fit perfectly on the mantle. The previous tenants had an outlet installed for their flat screen, so we won’t have to worry about any unsightly power cords hanging down from the fireplace. We also managed to get free upgrades to our cell phones with this promotion they were running at Radio Shack. We got these snazzy slide phones. We are so cool.

Also, just posted some new video. The boy is getting so interactive! Enjoy

  1. And duh, I just read you got a digital frame. Forgot in my video watching. Those are so cool! And you have so many great photos!

  2. Oh, so cute! I love the half roll, and that smile!

That’s the very same play disk that AJ/Abby has/had. He loved it. Thanks for taking the time to share. And happy first mother’s day. Thanks for taking the time to share. Did you get a mother’s day gift? Chance is getting a videocamera similar to the Flip, so I’m sure she’ll be posting videos soon.
