Liam is 11 months old

Happy Thanksgiving! We’re having a great time with our families in Lexington and Indianapolis, and Liam has been a busy little bee. His little cousins Brady and Devin are teaching him how to wrestle. He met his great grandma Weddle and lots of my aunts and uncles. He’s changed a lot in just one month. Here’s what he’s up to:

  • Liam took four steps on Thanksgiving Day! While we were all playing games in the kitchen, James’ mom played with Liam in the livingroom. She called over to show us how well he was standing all by himself, and then out of nowhere he started walking toward her. We tried again, and sure enough he took four steps while walking to me. We tried to get it on camera with limited success. (I think aunt Kim needed to read the instruction manual). This morning Liam took a couple of steps toward his cousin Brady.
  • Now that he’s walking, it hardly seems news that he’s crawling. But now that he’s been at it a month, he’s a pro. He can get just about anywhere now, and he pulls up on everything. He’s constantly after the remote, and we have everything pushed to the middle of the coffee table, just out of reach.
  • When we arrived in Lexington last Saturday, Liam made his way over to the staircase. I figured he might get one foot up, then turn around and cry. But much to my surprise, the little stinker started climbing like he’d been at it for months. He probably has been practicing over at Cameron’s. With us behind him just in case, he can make it all the way up to the second floor all by himself!
  • At Thanksgiving he ate just about everything we prepared — turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, rolls, and stuffing. I even let him try some pumpkin pie, which he happily gobbled up. The only thing he turned his nose up at was deviled eggs. Or, rather, “Devin Eggs” because they’re Devin’s favorite.
  • Liam has two more teeth to add to his arsenal. Now he’s got two on top and two on bottom. He was especially fussy and drooly yesterday, so we suspect more are on the way.
  • Liam loves to stick his fingers in holes…be it a hole in a plastic toy, or daddy’s nostrils.
