And we’re done

What a relief! Today we finally saw a house that we both agreed was large enough and in our price range. We put down a deposit, and the couple renting us the house will be sending us a lease next week. Whew! Even Liam loved the house. It was the only house we saw where Liam got down and ran around. He put his face on the carpeting on the stairs and said, “So soft.” We drove by the community pool, which was only a few blocks away, and it was the nicest subdivision pool I’ve ever seen! We had lunch at a Thai place in downtown Avalon Park, and it was both cheap and good. Love the sound of that! There’s a big 4th of July fireworks celebration in the town square, and if we’re feeling up to it, we may attend. More likely Liam and I will attend and lazy, anti-social James will stay home and catelog his books.

One place I know I’ll be able to get James out of the house for is any one of several Orlando theme parks, even though they’re all about an hour from our new place. We took Liam to Sea World yesterday, and it wasn’t quite as cheeseball as I thought it would be. The ticket prices were pretty steep ($80 a pop, but liam got in free), especially since we couldn’t ride any of the coasters. But the shows were pretty spectacular, and we had a great lunch in a restaurant next to the shark tank.

You know what else is about an hour from our new house? Cocoa Beach. Now that’s something to get excited about.

  1. Yay! So glad that worked out, and a pool too! You should look into a AAA membership. They offer discount tickets to all places Orlando, plus with that Orlando sprawl, probably wouldn’t be a bad idea in case your car should ever break down/get a flat tire! Poor James! I think you’re due to write him a favorable post lest we start wondering what keeps you two liking each other! LOL! Can’t wait to know how the move goes.

    • Ha ha, James thinks so, too. He instructed me to write that he’s a wonderful husband and I’m lucky to have him. Which I wholeheartedly agree 🙂 I’ll have to look into theme park discounts through AAA — we actually joined last year and have even gotten a jump start on the car with it. Got good rates in our hotels, too. Florida residents get an enormous discount at parks, and we will probably get season passes at some point. Woo-hoo! Now that the house is settled I can start getting excited about this!
